Job Title: Machine Vision Application Engineer to join existing team.

Job Summary: Design, commission & validation of machine vision related solutions, primarily for FDA regulated companies.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, installation, commissioning & validation of the vision, electrical, and mechanical based elements of the solution at the customer’s site or machine builder facility.
• Generate & manage a detailed project plan that ensures solutions are implemented into the clients manufacturing facility to an agreed schedule and within budget.
• Generate documentation to GMP requirements (URS, FDS, FAT, IQ/OQ etc) when required.
• Liaise with internal Quality & Software team to ensure full integration of all aspects of the project.
• Provide engineering expertise to internal Sales Department at URS and project quotation phase.
• Liaise with customer to ensure proper understanding of customer requirements.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate an interest in and knowledge & experience of machine vision technologies, preferably Cognex based. 
• Strong working knowledge of PLC based control systems.
• Working knowledge of high level languages such as C# or VB.NET and database systems.
• Demonstrate knowledge & experience of using communications protocols for industrial automation systems.
• Proficient with drafting packages such as AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar.
• Demonstrate an innovative and positive approach towards finding solutions.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability to contribute & work effectively as part of a team.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant industrial experience, preferably in regulated industries.
• Self-starter, who can work independently when required, and escalates appropriately.
• This position is based in Cork, but will require some travel to customer sites in Ireland and elsewhere.
• Full clean drivers licence.
• Excellent English language skills both written and spoken.
• Recognised third level qualification in electrical/electronic/mechanical engineering.
